The publisher of this series, Children's Press, described these book as "Adventure-filled Biographies". They are lightly illustrated and are perfect for an older reader. I (Tanya) have read The True Story of Winston Churchill and really enjoyed it.

These books are told in a style that articulates facts and events using very little dialogue between characters. While not dry by any means, these are perfect for a reader whose interest in a particular subject has already been kindled by a story format book, and is now ready to transition to a more in-depth study of the subject.

Note: These books had dust jackets over identical pictorial covers.
